A: Hey, long time no see! How have you been?
B: I’m doing okay, just been super busy with work. What about you?
A: Same here. I’ve been meaning to text you for weeks, but I kept forgetting.
B: No worries, I get it. Life gets in the way sometimes.
A: So, are you still living downtown?
B: Yeah, I moved to a bigger place last month, actually. It’s a bit further from the station, though.
A: Oh nice, congrats! We should grab coffee sometime and catch up properly.
B: Definitely. How about this weekend? I’m free on Saturday afternoon.
A: Saturday works for me. Let’s meet at that place near the park.
B: Sounds good. I’ll text you the details later.
- “How have you been?”
- “get in the way” は get in がつながって「ゲティン」に近くなります。

B: Not yet. Is it any good?
A: It’s amazing. I went there yesterday and had the best latte I’ve had in a while.
B: Really? What’s it called again?
A: I think it’s called “Bean & Leaf” or something like that. It’s right across from the bookstore.
B: Oh, I think I’ve walked past it. It looked kind of small from outside.
A: Yeah, it’s a small place, but they have a nice patio out back. It’s pretty quiet, too.
B: That sounds perfect for studying, actually. I’ve been looking for a new spot.
A: You should check it out. I’m probably going to go again this week.
B: Maybe we could go together next time.
A: Sure, just let me know when you’re free.
A: 「Bean & Leaf」
- “right across from” は across の s と from がつながり、聞き取りにくくなる箇所です。
- “let me know” は let me が「レッミー」のように短縮されるのが典型的です。

A: What are you up to this weekend?
B: Honestly, I haven’t decided yet. Work’s been so hectic that I just want to relax.
A: I hear you. I was thinking about going hiking on Sunday if the weather’s nice.
B: That sounds like a good idea. Where are you planning to go?
A: There’s a trail about an hour outside the city. I’ve heard the view from the top is incredible.
B: Mind if I tag along? I could use some fresh air.
A: Not at all, the more the merrier. We’d probably leave around eight in the morning.
B: Eight works. Should I bring anything?
A: Just some water and snacks. I’ll bring the rest.
B: Great, I’m looking forward to it already.

- “What are you up to” は are you がつながって「ワラユ」に近い音になります。
- “the more the merrier” は the の弱形が連続するため、聞き取りにくく感じる人が多い表現です。
